I would really like to get a job working for the probation service. I have been to prison and was released 3 years ago. I am now a completely different person to what i used to be and i strongly feel my experiences would help me connect with offenders and send them on the right path. Is it possible to work in probation with a crim record? and if can do it where should i start?

This is a serious question I really do want to help others.

You should ask around, i.e if you live near a prison if you can do some voluntary work and then you can start studying as well. I believe it's quite a long course too and you may need maths/english gcse to get accepted so you could start off by gaining those.

Yes you can, try speaking to your local jobcentre who will be able to put you in touch with the probation service and arrange a meeting to discuss your thoughts and prospects. Good luck.
