I believe it depends how deep you want to look - I mean what platform we use to discuss it - body, mind, soul, space, time, god ? :D

regardless, let me make a sort of simplified observation:

if life was pre-determined then it probably would not exists - and we do make this assumption here that it exists don't we ?
Why would nature/universe/god? get into trouble of simulating some sort of events if it already knew the outcome?
[Would the Universe exists (if exists) solely for ourselves?]

On the other hand, if life was not pre-determined, why should it be so different from the rest of the universe where all seems to have its order? So even if our lives are not pre-determined there may be some sort of order that governs them. But this sort of defeats the assumption that life is not pre-determined; doesn't it?

Also, is it possible that it is pre-determined for some people and it isn't for others?

In the end I believe it is important to find the answer by yourself. In the end, probably, none of us can do it for you.

As baptised Scottish Presbyterian, I should say yes, but I don't think Knox and Calvin were wholly right.

We do not choose which family or lifestyle we are born into - that is predetermined.

There have been times in my life where an odd set of circumstances have all fallen into place for me - is this chance or pre-determined? I don't know

But I do think we have a free-will to make choices for good or for bad, so we can shape and change what were are born into, if we really wanted too.

No sorry I dont believe that my life is pre-determined or any other persons life is either To believe in pre-determination you have to believe in something or someone who will do the determining and I dont believe that there is something out there working out the lives of 6,300,000,000 people.

I believe we are here to carry out certain purposes and learn certain lessons. I do not believe it is pre-determined how we are to do this. I also believe if we do not complete these tasks, we come back and continue our learning process. If life was predetermined, than that would mean that ultimately, something was in total control of everything, like we are mere puppets, and that I do not believe.

No, because of freewill. I can decide wheither or not to turn left or right. I may find a lot of money if I turn left and I might get killed by a truck if I turn right. Everything we do determines our destiny. If I think of slapping my boss it's one thing, if I do it, it's another. The decisions I make every second are what determines my fate.

Yes I do believe strongly that life is planned out - to teach us our lessons. We do have choices and we can use which way we want our life to go. It is the learning whether we acknowledge what we have learned and put it to good use and truly believe in our God than we will have truly learned what we had come here to learn. Yes we do determine everything in life to the parents we get born to and the friends we have and the encounters we encounter they are all part of the learning experience.

I believe "we" plan our lives before we are born
I have been to a Palmist and have found him 100% correct
Your left hand is mapped out with your destiny and never changes
And your right hand changes if you change you destiny and so to say get off track.
I have also done my Astrology birth-chart and my Numerology as well they all match up to 100% correct
If you have not experienced any please give one or all ago.
Not sure of your age, I am 43 so most of mine was confirmed from my past
If you are young it is harder to except until you are older and understand more.

Predetermined to a large extent. Nothing supernatural or anything. Biology and society impose certain limitations on the individual. There is a bit of leeway though. We make our own fate? Tell that to all the Africans that starve to death and are caught up in genocide. The free are a privileged class.

Yes, but I think we are the ones that make a blue print of our lives before we are born into this world. I think we choose our lives and there is one lesson that we came here to learn from; whether it be love, patience, anger, etc. I believe we re-incarnate until all the lessons we need to learn are completed and are souls are whole so that we may stay in the afterlife.
