every time i try to download it i get a error message

Try downloading and using FoxIt Reader...it reads PDF files like Adobe Reader does, but FoxIt Reader is MUCH faster and smaller than Adobe.

Have you checked your firewall settings? Could you specifically tell what is the error message?
Maybe you can check these out. (From the acrobat site)

i think u hvn't Acrobat Browser Plugin....
just www.Adobe.com
n get trial version Acrobat Reader.. thn install ur system............
