Do you think a black comedian, lashing out at a white heckler ,using terms like "honkey" "cracker" or " white devil" would create the same outrage as the Richards thing? Would it even be news?

Absolutely not! It's such a double standard. Black people act like they need to be treated special and better than white people do. Black people don't truly want to be equal to white people, because that means they won't be special anymore, with all the perks that come along with being "special." Examples of this would be ridiculous, stupid, black-favoring programs like Affirmative Action (or Affirmative Blacktion as I like to call it lol!) and the United ***** College Fund.

Don't know if it would be news or not but it should have the same reaction. Racism is racism and Richards actions are still inexcusable. His absolute lack of control was bad enough, but the racist statements were way over the top. Now he is trying to pull a Mel Gibson and tell folks that he really isn't that way. People that aren't that way don't suddenly find themselves using racial slurs they don't mean.

no cause they say it all the time....also its difficult to consider your post valid since you start it out with a racial epithet...you are doing the exact same thing richards did. actually what you don't mention is the hecklers were using derogatory terms at richards..that doesn't excuse richards tirade but neither does it excuse theirs. i have heard black comedians use much worse language against their own race and other races and its considered funny, i find it disrespectful and immature.

No. Ever see Chris Rock on HBO. He uses the N word all the time. Along with Honkie, Cracker etc...

bottom line - hypotheticals are irrelevant - RIchards was inappropriate. it is one thing to make an off-color joke during a stand-up routine, but he directed his comments (i.e. not jokes)towards people in the audience and was clearly not joking.

No. Black people did not hold our ancestors in bondage for 300 hundred years nor do they make up the governing hegemony of our culture and nation. When the "n" word is used it, in effect, santions centuries of slavery, hate, destruction, and racism by taking that history, endorsing it, and throwing it back in an African American's face. No matter what they say, blacks can never do anything that hurtful, with words, to a white person.
