Unless you have the songs from your old iPod already in your iTunes library, you wont be able to do this easily. Because of Apple crappy sharing rules, you are not able to Upload songs from your ipod, only download and sync from the current iTunes library associated with that iPod.

If the music is already in your library, you will be good to go. Just connect your new iPod and iTunes will ask you to assign the library and away you go.

If you don't already have the songs on your computer, you'll need a program such as iPod Music Liberator to move the songs from the iPod to your computer.

Make sure you have iTunes. Then hook your old one up to your computer and upload the songs. Then hook your new one up to the same computer and transfer them from you computer to your new ipod just like you would with you old one. its pretty simple really it should even give you instructions when you plug the new one in.

just hook it up and it should ask you a few questions and you will have to download some software and it should automatically upload them.
