It's the chair customers sit on so I really need to clean it up. Boss is not too happy :(
It's just splatters of the wax. When I try to scrape it off It leaves a brighter residue...Any suggestions?? Oh and the chair is cloth.

Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from fabric.

First you will need to do is a test. To do the test put some water, about the size of a quarter on the back edge of the cushion and wipe it with a white towel and let it dry on it’s own.

If you get colour transfer onto the towel it is not safe to clean.
If there is no change in colour and no watermark then it is safe to clean or spot clean.
If there is a watermark but no colour change it is safe to clean only thing is you will need to clean the whole thing. (to stop watermarks) you can not spot clean.

1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting( less chance of damaging the fabric). Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the fabric.

2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the fabric at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

If the ice thing doesn't work. Use a hot iron, with an old towel placed over the cloth. The heat will bring the waxup onto the towel and off the cloth chair. You'll look pretty funny bringing an iron into work though !

Rub an ice cube all over the wax until the wax really hardens. You should be able to just pop it off then.

if none of them work the easist thing to do is to get some greaseproof paper and an iron and place the greaseproof paper over the wax and iron the paper and the wax should pop off

I f you take paper towels and make them about 3-4 sheets layered put them over the wax and use a warm iron to press on them. this will warm the wax and it will absorb into the paper towel.

i have done that on carpet and used an ice cube to freeze the wax and that makes it easier to scrape off with a razor blade or butter knife...
good luck, hope it works for you!
