I'm sorry to hear Lianna say the Greek people aren't so nice.
I am from a Greek family and I think I am nice !
Greeks are the same as most other people in the world - there are good and bad but, I think, Greeks are mostly friendly.
I have travelled a lot on the Greek mainland and on the islands. Obviously Athens is a very good place, but I also like Thessaloniki and some of the Peleponnese is very pretty too.
On the islands, I like all of the Dodecanese because they are all different despite being close together. The Northern Sporades (Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos) are pretty too. Santorini, everybody says is nice but I find it too crowded.
I suppose my favourite would have to be where my roots are from (check out my name and you'll suss it) or Paxos, where my wife and I spent a fantastic honeymoon.

Yes, I loved it. Unfortunately, I only had time to visit Athens. In Athens, I would suggest that you visit all the historical sites, La Placa, and the little street cafes and restaurants. Life is beautiful in Greece, the people are friendly and it's very relaxing. I would also recommend that you go to the islands, in particular, Santorini and Crete. Have fun!

My favs are Athens and Kalymnos(in the Aegean). The life is great. Many things to do and see. Ancient sites, beaches, food, night life, rock climbing, cycling, and a lot less expensive than Western Europe. English is becoming more and more common. Approximately 80,000 American expatriots live in Greece.

i travel greece every year i like all the places with long sandy beaches with no hotels...
kato zakros in crete is a nice place

Well i live here in greece and for all those people who say its nice and relaxing u r wrong. The greek people arnt so nice at all. Yes the islands are nice but the truth isnt.

ive been to zante and crete.both were great.but i especially liked zante.away from the tourist areas.
