No, because they would never return, obviously.

I think that all depends on the severity of the crime that got them incarcerated. Rapists, child molesters, and serial killers are automatically taken out of the consideration for obvious reasons. Everyone else would be on a case by case basis. There would have to be some kind of supervision in place to make sure they all came back when they were supposed and also to make sure they don't get into any more trouble while they're out. There's a lot to consider with something like this but in some cases I would allow them to spend holidays with their families.

No, because there is a reason why they are incarcerated in the first place. They already get a free place to live, three meals a day, a free membership to a gym, computer access - what more could they possibly need? Hopefully time without their families during the holidays will make them realize that they need to change their lives. And maybe they won't be so eager to return to prison.

I think maybe that would be a good idea, but of course there are pros and cons to the matter. If they are allowed to leave for the holidays, their families should be held liable for their return. Giving prisoners some time off could even increase their chances of not committing a crime.
However, there is no guarantee that they will return and not continue their reckless behavior.

No. People are in prison as a form of punishment.

no. if they would have acted right in the first place they wouldn't be incarcerated and in need of being let out for the holidays. and, too, it's the holidays like they need anymore reasons to commit more crimes OF ANY SORT.

HELL NO! Why should they get to enjoy the holidays? They should have thought about that before they decided to commit a felony. The families of the people they victimized are not going to enjoy the holidays why should they. Where is the deterent to crime if you still get to enjoy the priviledges?

No ... prisoners got placed in prison for various reasons. Prison is part of the punishment that they receive. I am sure that many would "behave" and do exactly what they were supposed to do; however, it would take just one tragedy and this practice would be totally shut down.

NO. If they are in prison that means they have been convicted for a crime. They gave up all of their rights when they committed the crime.

yes i do think they should be released during thanksgiving and christmas to spend time with their loved ones. my brother was sent to the penitentary bout 3 months ago, long story bout how he ended up there but its a bunch a bull anyways! the only way i wouldnt agree with a prisoner being let out is if they were a murderer/rapist unless they had one of them ankle bracelets i guess to make sure they are where they are sposed to be at all times.
