I really think he has the right to say whatever he wants, as do the hecklers that were bothering him. If people don't like it, they can leave, just as many did. He hurt himself more than anyone else, but he has the right to act like a fool.

I am completely disgusted and sickened by Richard's outburst. I don't care if he was being heckled. I don't care if they yelled and talked during this set. He's getting paid thousands of dollars to stand up on a stage and tell jokes. He's been a comedian for a while so he should know that it comes with the territory (a heckler every now and then). And his racial comments were absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for. And for the record, I was equally disgusted by the heckler who in turn made his own racial slurs toward Richards.

Apparently he was out of control. ..like Mel Gibson....sometimes it's because of too much drinking....and we all know that rehab became acceptable when the stars spent so much time "in rehab". Before then, it was just the regular people who were out of control. I think it became acceptable for rehab when President Ford's wife, Betty Ford went into rehab and they built a clinic in her name "The Betty Ford Clinic" in California and now stars go there.
Sometimes people feel threatened - and it's not the heckler...that's just the tip of the iceberg.
It's the 50+ years to get them to this place, and then someone sets them off.
I believe in forgiveness and second chances. ...or as the Bible says forgive 70 x 7 ....I think I've been forgiven about a "gagillion times" for my faults....some were silly and some were just plain stupid.
I think the audience was right to walk out....they showed more dignity by just walking away.
When my own daughter bought a cd and put it on my car player...and it had the "n" word, I told her to take it out immediately. I said NO way ...not in my car...not in my home...and not when I'm around. If you and your friends listen to that stuff, you are wrong. That's an old fashioned method ....from Nancy Reagon...Just say no......and I did.

Michael Richards pronounced that wasn't part of the act men, thank you for attempting. and whilst has somebody on Def Comedy Jam EVER taken a heckler and blasted them with racial slurs? You posters protecting him look merely as undesirable as he does for protecting it blindly. all and sundry who observed the video is acquainted with what got here approximately. Michael Richards merely admitted that it became now not part of the act and he became sorry. So now what do you all say? Is he racist? extra beneficial than in all probability.. Does he be conscious of it? in all probability now not. in the event that they have been white hecklers would he had hurled racial slurs to them like that? in all probability now not. There are a gaggle of non black people who pronounced quite some issues and close up somewhat rapid whilst they observed the video.

Whether we wish to admit it or not we are all racist in some ways.Sadly,we are also opportunistic and ready to jump on anyone else that happens to have an issue. Look,if people would just stop this 'walk in my shoes' baloney, and got about to being friends, neighbors, sharers of this earth,we'd be much better off.Was Mr. Richards wrong? Were the hecklers wrong? We're all wrong time to time. The thing is for us to state our dislike, and try to not do it ourselves. But we will, you can bet each of us will. We're humanbeings and filled with errors! Accept it & move forward. Finally,I love all these folks 'yelling go home'..I'm native american heritage..'you go home or stop yelling such craziness'!May we start by calling ourselves 'americans' first, instead of italian-amer.,or,african-american,etc.Born elsewhere's that's one thing, born in America..YOU ARE AMERICAN!Be it American-Mexican,American-Black,American-Polish,italian,whatever! Stop labeling everything, everyone, and go mow your neighbors lawn, but ask first!Or,take a walk with your family,a friend, alone. Take a bag with and pick up litter it's hurting us all! "Hav-a-Hapi'...IamOK!

If he had made his comment during the McCarthy era or the Jim Crow era, this would not be such a controversial event.
