Mine's got to be GL Kyle Rayner - a total rookie hero, getting his ring through a twist of fate, becomes one of the most influential & cool characters in the universe. & his power comes down to imagination - makes a refreshing change. The down to Earth attitude (& one-liners!) show up Supes' corniness or WW's haughty 'tude, too.

i like the dark knight... batman because he knows all the metahumans and non-metahumans pwers and how to exploit them. he suffered setbacks inhis life but that has never stopped him from kicking butt.
butthe question is is batman real and bruce wayne is the alter ego or is it the other way around?

That's interesting, b/c I see Rayner as a total wuss. He's an embarassment to the GL Corps.
With decades to choose from, this is tough. Some of my favorites have been:
Val Armor- Worked hard for what he's got. Delivers much funnier lines than Peter Parker, or Plastic Man.
Validus- kicks everyone's a$$
Timberwolf- The original tough-guy loner w/ pointy hair
Mon-El- Just cooler than Superboy
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan or Alan Scott)- Tough enough to get things done w/ their rings.
Flash (Barry or Wally)- That much speed would be so cool.

My favorite character is Batman. Pretty much for all the standard reasons. He is the only hero without any powers that is classified in the same league as Superman and Wonder Woman.
HOWEVER. Lobo is a close second. This is because he is a complete parody of the "ultra-violent, indestructible hero/ villian". And what makes him even better is the fact that he has become more than just a parody... into a bonafide character!

I'll say Guy Gardner, because he's the ULTIMATE chimpazee with a nuclear weapon. He's so awful he has no clue why everyone shuns him, but he never gives it a break. From the General Glory storylines, his date with Ice, and most recently his solution to locating the Justice league in hell, nobody else is consistently more hilarious and obnoxious.
He got one-punched by Doomsday and Batman alike- that's gotta count for something.
I mean, what other GL would try to contact Superman by creating a 100-foot tall power ring image of himself in the middle of Metropolis shouting, "Hey, Superwuss!"

I have to agree with you. My favorite part however, is the fact that he can do more with the ring than any previous Green Lantern simply because no-one ever told him he can't.
