My wife had a blood test of some sort, fetal screening, and we were told that there was a 1 in 87 chance of our child being born, or not even born, with this rare genetic form. Since then, we have had numerous ultra-sounds to determine the outcome, but have yet to learn. We have heard from others that have had this test that they were all tested positive as well. This being a rare disease, we question the accuracy of this testing. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as it has caused a great amount of stress and fatigue on both of us.

I went online and read about it. It is fairly common, with 1 in 3ooo births, and most children born with this conditon only live a few months.

If I understood you, the odds are 1 in 87 that your child has this. If so, then it is 86 in 87 that she doesn't. It is your decision, but I think the odds are still in your favor of having a normal, healthy child.

If there were markers for trisomy in her fetal screening, she should have an amnio done to make sure. If this test was the triple screen, fortunately that test tends to be incorrect, BUT she should definately have an amnio to find out for sure.

there is alot of stigma connected to being a pregnant youngster AND to being on any kind of welfare/authorities help. I understand the position you're coming from, i'm no longer a youngster, yet i'm youthful and that i'm getting medicaid to pay for my being pregnant. human beings will attempt to shrink you down as a lot as they could... yet purely ignore them! the human beings who protest and ***** at you the loudest are a similar those who will bypass operating for help from the authorities if something ever undesirable occurs to them and they gained't provide it yet another idea then. those everyone looks ignorant and performance surely no compassion for persons in favor. Being on welfare does no longer advise that you're lazy or irresponsible... surely it shows adulthood that you're keen to do inspite of the actuality that it takes to guard your unborn baby, inspite of the actuality that if it ability operating 2 jobs AND being consistently shrink down each and every of the time because you're using your states coverage. i'm hoping each and every thing seems properly for you!
