We don't have time to be a family anymore, we are rushed into everything. Do you remember when store use to be closed on Sundays, and all Holidays. When people had time for family, and family dinners together. Wouldnt it be nice if stores were closed again on Holidays, and Sundays. Maybe some families could get some family values back. Everything seems to be so rushed, last weekend our town had there Christmas parade, a week before Thanksgiving, is that not crazy?

first off that would only work if enough people stop shopping on holidays and sundays and if business owners would stop being so money hungry and close there stores on sundays.
We as families must say we are not doing all these activities for we need more time as a family and less time apart. we think we HAVE To do all these things because everyone alse does all these things. we must stop competing with other families and just be happy with what we have then we can take the time to be a family and truelly have fun

Yes, you are so right. It's super crazy and depressing at the same time. I am divorced and remarried so sometimes my two boys will be with their dad and step-mom on the holidays. That leaves me, my husband and our daughter for a small get together. My relatives are too busy with their own children to plan anything big so I just deal with it. I would do the big thing, but I am not financially well off enough to invite and serve that many people. I just try to do the best I can , not RUSH the days, and love my kids everyday.

I used to get like a day off before any holiday and not work on weekends now it's like all I do is work. I never see my daughter except for in the mornings when she is grouchy and at night when everyone is eating supper, taking showers, and getting ready for bed. None of my nieces get to come to anything our family does anymore because of work. I agree about the store thing but it also helps for them to be open in case you forget something on Thanksgiving. But that also means that someone can't spend time with their family.
