Freddy Kruger was a child molestor/killer. He would gather up the neighborhood kids, one by one, and take them to the boiler room to molest and kill them. When the parents of the neighborhood (Elm Street) find out it is him, they lure him to the boiler room and he is killed by the entire group. Later, he is able to come back and haunt these parent's kid's dreams. The girl in the first movie, her dad and mom were 2 of those parents, and so on. Freddy's own childhood consisted of a mother who was gang raped when she was mistakenly left in a mental ward/prison causing her to get pregnant with Freddy. Freddy was raised, however, by a sexually and physically abusive step-father (played by Alice Cooper) which is where the seed was planted in him to do the same to children when he got older.

Which one? The movie's story or the "curse" which was the basis of the movie Wes Craven's New Nightmare, that some claim was a Nightmare on Elm Street but I don't really agree.

But offcourse, Freddy Cruger, if spelled right, at one time did live a normal life with a wife n kid! Then one day, the guy flips out and kills his wife n kid, can you beleive it! So he ends up killing and buring the bodies or something like that in the basement boiler room, thats why hes always in the boiler room, hint hint, the bad skin scars Freddy has, Proavtive Freddy, Proactive! In all, thats some of the story i could rem. plus dont dream cuz then hes comes out and tries to kick your ***, just be aware for next time!

a child molester was not punished for his crimes, so the parents of the molested children take action for themselves. they burn down his house with him inside, he seeks evenge on the children through their dreams. the children on elm street are then harmed
