My AM scale runs 53-170 and my FM runs 88-108. I'm just wondering since I bought my brother in Texas a thing with a radio on it for Christmas.

yes frequency modulation(fm) and amplitude modulation(am) are universal.,as is short wave. Of course depending on singal strength of stations the same station will not play in new york and california.

Yes, all radios work the same everywhere - except for the stations of course.

Otherwise, radios shipped from China wouldn't work in the US, radios shipped from Japan wouldn't work in China, and so forth. They work everywhere.
