I am in the same canoe as you, my tradition is to find creative ways to weasel out of thanksgiving dinner invitations. I got two this year, if they are nothing else, family and friends are at least persistant.
At least this year, I did not have to get creative, I work a 12 hour shift, and do not get out untill after 7am. No way am I getting dressed up, and drag myself to dinner, side dish in hand.
Hey tacos sound good, and a fine tradition they would be, too. You could cut up a taco shell, and make a fan, and attatch it to one end of the taco for a turkey tail, and cut two pieces for the head. Voila! Thanskgiving turkey! [LOL, can you tell I just came off of my shift?] And no basting!
Have a Happy turkey day!

Thanksgiving night I pull out some leftovers or snacks, have some wine, put in a Christmas Movie (Usually Christmas Vacation) and decorate the tree.

Yes, Every year we put all of our family members names in a hat and we pull names for Christmas presents and the limit to spend was $25. I enjoyed that.

I listen to the song 'Thanksgiving' by Poi Dog Pondering.

It reminds me of all the good things that can come out of my mistakes.
Important to remember!
