i get the feeling that someone else is stoking the fire in lebanon and deliberately blaming it on syria.
does anyone else get that feeling? who do you think it might be?

hmmm... iran... could be, but it seems a little too obvious, and i think they would either claim the credit, or blame it on israel, not syria.

if it is the cia, what benefit do they get by destabalising lebanon? does it take them out of any future war? tie up resources that would otherwise fight against US and israeli troops? covering one front by setting off a civil war? possibly, but that assumes that future action will be seen in the region... assuming that it is, and it is the CIA then bloody clever really.

wow! saudi... that's a new one... though i know they own a big % of US economy, so big strings, haven't really considered their role in all of this. true, they do stand to gain a hell-of-alot out of destablising the region... however, i believe they have lifted the financial embargo on palestine, but then perhaps this too has something to do with destabilisation. they may talk up bush, doesn't mean they won't work against him too.

You are 100% correct.
We must consider who is the first to point the finger at Syria on every occasion, the USA and Israel.
Who are the countries that constantly interfere in the local politics of Lebanon & Syria, - the USA and Israel.
Syria has offered to sign a peace treaty with Israel for ten years if Israel gives it back its territory (the Golan) - no agreement from Israel.

John Bolton stated at the UN yesterday "violence is no way to change goverments" this is an amazing statement from the USA spokesman as they are the only country that have and continue doing exactly that.
Who gains from the de-stabilisation of Syria and Lebanon that both support the Palestinians claim for their land back (regeim change to get a friendly puppet govenment) - USA and Israel.

i believe it is Saudi Arabia.they wanted the attack on Iraq and have been raking in the profits every since.they also have been pushing their buddy Bush to attack Iran and Syria for the same reason.but you never hear of an attack on N.Korea.they want that handled diplomatically because there is nothing to gain for the Saudis there.and let us not forget the fact that Bin Laden and most of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.good job pointing out the fact that things aren't always as they seem.

The US and UK "intelligence" services, also the Israelis.
Everything to dicredit Syria and Iran has to be to their respective gouvernments' advantage, never mind plunging the country into another civil war.
