1.Carlos Zambrano
2.Vincente Pidella
3.Rich Hill
4.Gil Meche
5.Wade Miller/Mark Prior
What do you think? With the cubs offense, thats pretty good. Neal Cotts is also a possibility for starting 5th
If prior is healthy, he could be number two. Our backup starter could be Sean Marshall. Julio Lugo said he would play center field if the cubs are interested. He is a favorite of Lou Pinella.

Kerry Wood won't start because its too risky. He'll be inthe pen.

That rotation would be good enough to make the Cubs contenders in the NL Central.
Zambrano is a bona fide ace, and I think Padilla-Meche is a very solid 2-3 combo. The question marks would be those last three - Rich Hill is an enigma, Wade Miller hasn't pitched a full year since 2003, and Prior's medical problems are well-documented.
Even with those question marks, I think the Cubs could contend. I'd like to see them upgrade the leadoff spot - having Pierre leave should help - and let Soriano and Zambrano bring those first couple of hitters in the order home.

Not a bad rotation, if every one of those dudes are healty. Prior, Miller and Zambrano will be in the DL next year, just pray they do´t got there at the same time. Padilla sucks. there is not other way to describe his pitching. Meche is destined to be in a team for the AL and Rich Hill? Unproven dude.
Heck, is a bad rotation from the second to the 5th starter. So, exprect to win 2 games every 5....

It can contend, you got your ACE in Zambrano. Vicente to me is more of a three starter. Prior-(big if) if he is healthy then it is a good staff. Wood should be made a closer. Wow Lugo would be a good addition, the Cubs are coming out firing out this off-season, congrats man.

Aside from Zambrano, those are all mediocre names. Neal Cotts? LOL.
What makes you think the Cubs have a good offense? It's a home-run-or-nothing attack.
Prior is a wuss. Always hurt, won't pitch in pain.

Could be good for the Cubs but again how many times can you have a broken heart?
By the way I guess you mean Woods will be in the Bullpen and not some federal joint somewhere.

it's the best time of the year to be a Cubs fan - the off-season!
i would advise you to wait until March 1, when they reveal the 25-man roster.
and as for your imaginary rotation: even if it were to become a reality, you've got one proven stud, a bunch candidates for the DL, and a whole lotta questions.
Neal Cotts? starting? i almost feel bad for you Cubs fans, but you do it to yourselves.

Uh I think Wade Miller deserves to be higher up in the rotation, other than that it is okay.

This seems like an above average rotation. however, how long can mark prior last? but overall pretty good.
