I don't blame her for not wanting the hand over her mouth. She was right to mention it.
On the other hand I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. Now the homophobic card is being played as much as the race card. Overuse!

I think that Clay Aiken was just joking around....Kelly Ripa took the incident too seriously. I like Rose O'Donnell a lot, but she is assuming something about Clay Aiken. She is assuming he is gay, when that has not been confirmed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, including Rosie and Kelly. I think Clay Aiken is taking the high road by keeping his mouth shut. I'm not a big Kelly Ripa fan...she needs to tone her whole persona down.

Over all, the whole incident has been blown way out of proportion.

I too observed all of what transpired. via no ability did Kelly make the fact as homophobic. Clay grew to become into impolite and could have on no account pulled a stunt like that with Regis or Rosie for that count number. Now, Rosie gets in contact and throws out the gay card. ok, at the start whilst did Clay ever pronounce that he grew to become into in fact gay? Is Rosie "trip" him? That woman extremely desires to think of formerly she speaks. Clay owes Kelly an apology Rosie owes Kelly & Clay an apology, for turning it right into a "gay factor"

This is being blown waaaay out of proportion. I don't want anyone placing their hand over my mouth...you don't know where it's been. He shook hands with all of the audience members...who's to say he washes after using the bathroom. It's a simple hygiene matter. Rosie sees everyone as homophobic because she doesn't want to see anything else. She refused to see Kelly's side, although the other co-hosts understood. All in all, it's a done deal and it' s time to let it GO!

I feel bad for Kelly, ya know, let's think about this.....who answering this question could go on LIVE TV everyday and guarantee that we would not say something that would accidentally offend someone. We all have said things in life, and later said "hey, I hope you did not take that the wrong way, what I meant was...." Ya know, let's not judge others unless we have walked a day in their shoes. And also, what gives Rosie the right to stick her nose in EVERYONES business??? Really now....

Kelly just watched Clay shake 100's of peoples hands.

Would you want a hand that has just been in contact with 100's of strangers put anywhere near your mouth.

It was simply that. The media is blowing it all out of proportion.

Kelly Rippa is a spoiled want a be mom. Do you think her kids know her? Can't wait Till her husband Juan Valdez starts hammering someone else. That will be great.

Kelly overreacted and continued to defend her poor response. If she is so concerned about germs then maybe exposing herself to hundreds of audience members daily isn't the right job for her. She should go back to soaps where making out with actors onscreen clearly poses no risk of germ transmission. :P

I thought he was a bit rude (putting his hand over her mouth)..... but I think she must have had PMT that day, as she took it the wrong way and blew it out of all proportions
