If you want a store brand, Oil of Olay is a good moisturizer, as well as Ponds.

Also - you may want to consider exfoliating (this is using a mild exfoliation scrub to remove the dead dry skin off of your face). As long as it is mild, it will not hurt, and you will actually have a freshened face!

There are also lots of great cleansers on the market for dry skin.

For great face care:
Cleanse
Exfoliate as needed
Tone
Moisturize
Apply Sunscreen

I have been trying different ones lately because it has been so dry and I'm getting older, that nothing that used to work seems to now. Ponds and Oil of Olay are good ones. You don't have to pay a lot to get a good one. I use O.of O.

A helpful suggestion. I am taking an omega 6 supplement now. It will help moisturize from the inside out. It might take a month, maybe less, but it's worth it!!! My skin is getting better. I also use flax seed oil in breakfast drinks and olive oil to cook with. But then, maybe my skin is much drier than yours.

DO get the supplements and at a health food store. Mine is called Borage Oil, 1000 mg. and it is not expensive. We have Henry's out here and I buy the store name brand.

Good Luck. I've been feeling like a lizard. This WILL help.

Oil of Olay makes a great moisturizer. If you're looking for a department store brand, I'd go with Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - it's awesome, and not too heavy.

But take a look at your skin care regime as a whole. What are you using to cleanse and/or tone your face? Make sure it's not too harsh for your skin. My skin is pretty much normal, but has oily tendencies. But in the winter, I have to switch my cleanser to a more gentle one to avoid my skin getting dry. There's nothing worse than using a moisturizer for dry skin, and then just having it make your face shinier! Good luck!

Mary Kay Intense Moisturizing Cream. It is amazing and I have very break-out prone skin and have no problems with it. Its very creamy and just feels so good on your skin! Even for the driest skin on my clients, this works! Plus, it is guaranteed. If it doesn't work, Mary Kay consultants all will do an exchange or refund.

Also, I recommend using a microdermabrasion product to help slough off dead skin cells because they prevent moisturizers from being absorbed into your skin. Mary Kay's is great because it comes with a vitamin enriched serum and is not too harsh for your skin like many that are on the market.

I have very sensitive skin that get's dry in the colder month's , i was advised to use a moisturizer with out a fragrence .. so I tried a natural moisturizer with out a bunch of ingredients ..so I chose Aloe Vera ... It works great and it's cheaper than the name brands , and does just as good .

Oil of Olay has one in a pink bottle with a black top...not sure what it's called but I use it and my face is softer, does not look dry, and never breaks out.

Because I am acne prone, I use a light moisturizer but it works very well and it is called Nivea Soft. You can get it for about $4.99 at wal-mart.
