A one-dimensional figure is a line, and has LENGTH.
A two-dimensional figure has two dimensions (usually width and length) and has AREA.
A three-dimensional figure often has three dimensions (such as width, length, and height) and has VOLUME.

Area is defined as the amount of region enclosed by the boundaries of a simple, closed, plane figure. You have formulas for finding the area of some figures. Area of :
Triangle = (base)*(height)*(1/2)
Square = (side)*(side)
Rectangle = (Length)*(Breadth)
Circle = (pi)*(radius)^2
Parallelogram = (base)*(height)
Trapezoid = (1/2)*(sum of the lengths of the parallel sides)*(Height)
Rhombus = (1/2)*(Product of diagonals)
All the above are just basic formulas. More complex formulas or more novel methods to find areas will be taught to you in the future.
There is yet another formula for finding the area of a triangle, when height cannot be determined. It is called Hero's formula. Here's the derivation:
Let the sides of the triangle be 'a', 'b' and 'c'
The perimeter = a + b + c
Semi-perimeter = (a + b + c)/2
Let the Semi-perimeter be 's'
Area of triangle = Square root of[(s)(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)]

It means the surface area or how much the object covers inside its boundaries. eg the surface area of a rectangle is found by multipling the length by the width and the answer is expressed in square feet or square inches or square metres etc.

The amount of 2D space inside something- if its 3D then its called volume instead. Example...If u have a rectangle with length 5cm & width 3cm, u do lengthxwidth to calculate the area. 5x3=15, piece of cake

The amount of floor space something covers. For a rectangle it's the length mutiplied by the width. For a circle is its radius squared multiplied by pi.
