New bathroom fitted recently, mixer telephone tap put on the bath. Hot tap has never rung as fast as the cold, but this morning it has gone to a trickle. No muck in tap and washer is fine. Pipe work is three quarter inch. Our combination boiler makes an odd noise when the tap is run. Basin and kitchen taps are fine, and the boiler sounds normal when they are run. Any ideas?

sounds like there is a shut off valve for the faucet that is either closed or partially closed. But I dont understand about the telephone tap or said tap ringing. Not a plumber though

Lousy tap
Doesn't matter how much you pay or where you go today's taps are rubbish. I had the same problem and it is caused by two things- Bad Design plus Bad Assembly.
The knob you turn on the outside obviously turns left or anti-clockwise as you start to open it.
At the same time a further thread inside the bit that's going up lifts the part with the washer on it.
When it was assembled the first one you turned didn't leave enough room for the second one to move up inside it.
Call the plumber back and tell him the tap needs stripping and reassembling.
Its not your boiler's fault.

It sounds like there is some "Junk"(Trash) in the line running to your tub.
Also, is your bathtub the farthest away from your boiler?
I would almost guarantee that one of the "90*'s"(L-fitting) that runs to your tub is "Full" of trash(Calcium Deposits, Minerals, Scale) that got "knocked-loose" inside of your pipes, when you had the work done. It could be inside "The-Hot-Side"(Faucet) of the tub itself.
If you can get to your "Line" (Hot Water Line) that runs from your Boiler, to your bathtub, then you can "chase-down"(run) the problem area. Have someone open the "Hot-Side"(Faucet) of the tub, while the "chaser" is inspecting the "line" start at the Boiler, and listen for water flow, also touch the line to see if it is "Hot." The first "90*"(L) past the Boiler, is warm, but the line running past is Cold, there it is... The only way to fix this, is replace the "90*"(L).
Oh Yes, the Boiler noise, sounds like you have air in the tank, that wasn't "bled-out" or "back-flow" valve is faulty.
Good Luck...

Shut off water supply and remove housing on hot water tap. Remove cartridge and replace with a new one. It seems that your cartridge was improperly installed or debris of some kind has clogged it. Also, make certain that the shutoff valve has not been stripped. The taps will be under warranty, so there is no cost to return the old one to the store where you purchased it.

I had this once, a friend said "It's an airlock" he put the hosepipe(mains pressure) onto the hot tap and and forced the water back up the pipe we heard the bubbles in the header tank and afterwards it worked perfectly. Worth a try.

When this happened to me it was because the plumber had left some pieces of foam insulation in the boiler tank and this had blocked the water pipe.

in case you the place to disassemble the valve assembly from the pipe... you may locate that the pipe has a discounted length taking off, led to by utilising chemical deposit. Or a peice of scale has wedged interior the outlet in the past that valve. Galvanized pipe does that.the size could be caught in an elbow? faucet the piping at the same time as working the water and notice if it extremely is going to launch??? could be time to have the plumber back.
