I don't have a scientific answer to this but I can say for sure that too much vitamin C consumed in food over a period of a few weeks (especially tomatoes) eventually gives me a canker sore. Other people are correct that you can't OD on vitamin C and you'll just pee it out. However, the high level of acidity in most vitamin C may affect certain people more than others. I hear there is a non-acid kind of vitamin C made out of ascorbate rather than ascorbic acid if you are sensitive to high acid levels.

Too much of any thing is bad for you, the body can get rid of small amounts of things that it does not need, but from what it sounds like, you are not taking enough of any one vitamin to worry about any thing. The multi vitamin will give you almost a full day of most of the vitamins you need for a daily intake. If you were taking the multivitamins when the doc gave you the vitamin B pills, and you told the doc you were taking them, you have nothing to worry about.

Some vitamins can be toxic if too much is ingested. However It sounds like what you are taking is fine....just a lot of capsules. The high amount of B vits won
t hurt you, You might consider looking for a multi vit from a health food store that might contain some of the other supplements you are taking (and also get away from the chemical additives & fillers many grocery store brands have in them).

This is a lot if you are having a proper, varied food intake with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Some vitamins are excreted from your body if you have over and above the amount you need e.g. vitamin C found in citrus fruits, blackcurrants etc. Others such as Vitamins A, D, E can be stored in your body and you therefore need to be careful not to exceed the amount you need according to the recommended daily intakes.

You need to work out whether you really NEED all these vitamins and other herbal remedies (which also contain minerals such as iodine), preferably with someone who is qualified in nutrition and can give you unbiased advice in relation to any problems you may be having. Perhaps your GP could refer you?

You can reach a toxic level with some vitamins but what you are describing is not above the danger zone so you should be alright...

you may want to recheck the herbal supplements that you list to see if any of them are already covered in your multi-vitamin tablet or the additional B complex... if anything you may be able to save some money by dropping any redundant supplements...

Good luck!

water soluble vitamins (like C) are all right to take as many as you want to because your body will just get rid of any excess. fat soluble vitamins (like A) can be very dangerous in supplement form because your body will store them until it's ready to use them and an excess can cause severe damage to your organs. the next time you go to buy more supplements, unless you have already cleared it with your doctor, talk to the pharmacist and tell her what you are already taking and what you need it for. She can tell you if it is safe and if you need it. it's really best to get your vitamins from your food though and just use vitamins as insurance. that is why they are called supplements. eat more fruits and vegetables and grains and less junk and you shouldn't need all these pills.

You should be getting Vit. B in your multi-vitamin but it may not contain a B-complex. It doesn't really sound like you're taking too much but it can be bad to take too many vitamins. There are some that are not hepatically or renally excreted and can build up in your body. But what you're taking doesn't sound excessive. Check with your doctor when you visit them again just to be sure you're not getting too much Vit. B. Good luck!

Some vitamins are toxic/poisonous if too much is taken, you should cut down the amount you take as it could be doing you more harm than good.

Most vitamins are harmless if too much is ingested (like vit C you just pee out the excess) the others you mentions may give you stomachache if overdone. Too much B6 is defiently not good for your nervous system, but I don't know how much is too much. Best to check the back of the packet.

Well, it won't matter anyway and won't do you any harm because vitamins are not needed that much in the our body daily, we just needed a small amount per day. And if you consume too much our body won't absorb it so don't worry cause it will be excreted out together with your urine. ('',)
