7 a) 250/300 * £84 = 70£
b) 63/84 * 300 = 225km

8 I did that, now how do I write it here?

9. i)5,10,15,20,………...25
ii)1,8,27,64, …………125 (cubes
iii)2,4,7,11,16……..22

10.
a)x2 – 7x = x(x-7)
b)x2 + 12x + 20 = (x + 2)(x+10)
c)x2 – 4 = (x+2)(x-2)
d) 552 - 452

e) Find the value of p and q, for all values of x.
x2– px + 12 = (x – 6)(x-q) = x2 -(6+q) + 6q

so 6q = 12 or q = 2

p = 6+q = 8

7: a) 84/300 = x/250
x = 84*250/300
x = 70

b) 300/84 = x/63
x = (300/84)*63
x = 225 km

9
i) Tn = 5 * n
ii) Tn = n^3, n>1
ii) Tn = Tn-1 + n

10.
a) x^2 - 7x = x(x-7)
b) x^2 + 12x + 20 = (x + 10)(x + 2)
c) x^2 - 4 = (x+2)(x-2)
d) ????
e) x^2 - px +12 = (x-6)(x-q)
x^2 - px + 12 = (x-6)(x-2)
x^2 - 8x +12 = (x-6)(x-2)
therefore p=8 and q = 2
