Neither. I am dancing against the general tendencies of this life but I have found many people doing the same...so....is there anyone doing it to just their own beat with no duplication anywhere on earth? If so, someone will probably end up murdering them anyway, but I doubt anyone can truly be doing so. I think they just like to say they are.
I will randomly guess most of your respondees claim to be dancing to their own beat or some derivative thereof. If they all got together, they may find they are very much in harmony. Or their claim will be their own "drummer", but they do not realize it is the same beat.

Yes I am because I love being in Dire Straits & doing the Walk of Life.
Holy Cow....some mornings I wake up with the juke box on full blast & I scare myself. :P lol

Life is a mixture of both. Sometimes you are subject to external forces beyond your control and sometimes you can play your own music. You make the best of both situations.
