Depends on what you enjoy doing. I just returned from London a month ago and found it to be the most open and accepting city I have ever been too.
It sounds like you are going with a partner so no crusing will be involved. If so, someone mentioned Hamstead Heath. If you go be careful and only go during the afternoon when it is still daylight. The woods behind Jack's Straw House are fun.
SoHo is the London Gay District and you can find many good eating establishments and it is very busy even into the late hours. Be sure to visit the bar 79CXR on Charing Cross Road. Very friendly, non stuck up bar.
You will have a great visit and don't believe any negitive comments people may say on here about London because it is a truely wonderful city.
The people are very friendly if approached by you. Don't expect them to come up and talk to you because that rarely happens. You will get used to it.
Have fun, I wish I was going with you guys.

Balans in Old Compton Street, Soho is a gay run restaurant and very friendly. (They have a restaurant at one end and a cafe at the other) The food is always very good. They are open all day into the early hours and are always busy in the evening so you may have to wait a few minutes to get a table. The waiters are all very friendly - and most are good looking as well!

Soho also has plenty of gay bars depending on what kind you like so there are plenty to choose from. Rupert Street bar (in Rupert Street) has a wide range of people as do many others. Another favourite of mine is the Edge in Soho square.

Have fun and enjoy your trip to London - it's a fab place for gays.

Start on Old Compton Street in Soho (Central London), most establishments there are gay owned and/or run and it's always very busy. You must try all the bars along there, they are all quite different and reasonably friendly. Pick up copies of the free gay press (Boyz and QX are the main titles) from any of the bars for information on gay bars/clubs/restaurants/shopping/saunas etc. London's gay scene is vibrant, exciting and friendly and caters for all types. London itself is very gay friendly and cosmopolitan. I can guarantee you'll have the time of your lives (and then some). Note: It's also very expensive!

10% of the population of London is gay. Have a wander round Soho and visit a bar. You'll be surrounded!

For a great restaurant, I recommend Stephs Restaurant on Dean Street in Soho. The place is gay friendly. The food is modern British. Steph will usually be there, and will chat to anyone (you can't miss her. Tall, wears black, has long white hair).
You get many gay couples and groups in there.

Anywhere nothing wrong with being gay. Hold your head high and don't let people freak you out.
You have the right to eat and go wherever you want, Brighton is the big Hang-out place for guy people. You will definitely not feel left out there. Enjoy your meal.

They say Soho is good, but like most large cities with gay population, you have to deal with straights who have been told the districts are more decent - or tourists (the worst sort, that is) who presume everyone will want to have a photo taken, and so they'll go wild with their digital.

Balans on Old Compton St. Consistently good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. No reservations/boooking. But great food.
