have a dodge intrepid and haven't had starting problems ever. The temperature in the night when I had problem starting my car would be around 40 F. It didnt start even after cranking a couple of times. Finally it did, after driving about half a mile my car gave hiccups as I was pressing the accelerator pedal, but it didnt stop. It started to run fine after those hiccups and started perfectly too.
Is this normal. Can I do anything to prevent this. Thanks in advance.

It doesnt hurt to put some fuel cleaner in your tank. 87 octane works best not premium gasoline. Your paying way too much. Also, get a tune up and check the fuel line. It may be pinched a bit. My car didnt buck or hiccup because of bad fuel it was because I had a pinched fuel line. It means your car isnt getting enough fuel because the line is pinched.

Fuel injection cleaner! My car did that all the time after it rained. The hiccups. I thought I might have put bad gas in it, but after I put a full tank of gas in with some fuel injection cleaner it ran like a beauty! you could try that out!

keep your fuel tank over 1/2 for the winter months at least, give it a shot of gas line antifreeze for the next couple of tanks, change fuel and air filters, and let the old girl warm up a few minutes on "cold" mornings

I would suggest you put some fuel or gas dryer into your tank and change the fuel filter as well.
