I really enjoy writing for my school newspaper, and I also want to become a Paramedic. Which line of work is better? Any advice?

Wow... totally different domains!

Well, writing for a paper could be great but the competition is fierce! Being a paramedic well, you won't get bored, that's for sure and you'd be helping people. How old are you? Do you really have to decide right now????

Pursue a newspaper career and be a paramedic for a volunteer fire department. Since you would be on scene at a lot of newsworthy events you could write stories about your EMT experiences.

Both provide different levels of satisfaction but you can do both by becoming a freelance reporter whilst keeping your job as a Paramedic
