OK, this is going to sound very Waltons (for those who know who they are), but my family and I used to get together and sing and play instruments on holidays. I play the piano (have since I was 7), my dad plays the guitar, and all of us sing fairly well. So, I'm certain that when we go to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, they will ask me to play the piano for them. I like the attention, I guess.
Now, during the meal, we talk. NO GAME -- that's just so not family-oriented!!! I've had that rule in my own house ever since hubby & I married 13 years ago. My SIL's B/F is a big sports fan, but he complies to the house rules.

By all means perform for your family, but not during the meal. You should eat with them, and if you were performing it would be distracting for the others. Wait 'till after dessert, everyone will be in a good mood and you'll have your best audience.

If I performed they would run screaming from the house. We often play music while we eat unless the Lions are on. It's always fun to watch them lose on Thanksgiving Day!

Not really. I like to talk while I'm eating with my family, so music would kinda just tick me off.

Neither but if I had to choose, it would be playing music while we all eat.

I have a trombone and I'm the best in my band class so I would want to do that if they would allow it.
