what is he interested in? I've been in that situation before, I think everybody has in one way or another.
When my oldest sister got married, it was like I had to think of multiple items. One for her, one for her soon to be husband, then bdays, anniversarys....what I did was since they were moving into a unfinished home that they were going to fix up I bought three books about decorating the house, new ways of doing stuff when it comes to fixing up the home.
Now my sis I give her gifts that fall along the lines of: Jewelry, Music or Movies, Signs(Like an old fashion poster)
However I dont know too much about her husband, I know he rides a Harley-Davidson. So I look around and I find this round HD sign that can be placed in the home. Other then that I always give him deodarant or cologne.
He always asks me why, and I always tell him he smells.

A Mp3 Player. If your cousin already have one maybe video games, or even a visa gift card. He can spend it anywhere and get whatever he wants.

Depends on what you want to spend first off. Do you know him--know him, like what he likes? Gift cards to places he likes to shop. I have brothers in their 20's and they all love cash. Give him a card with the amount of cash that matches his age.

My birthday is coming up soon, and I want a really nice and classic globe of the world.
Oh, sorry, don't know what your cousin wants.

Without knowing what he likes makes it difficult. A gift certificate to a fav restaurant , movie tickets, etc.

What's your budget to start with?
An ipod, music and/or game cds, sunglasses, sports watch, a 12 month subscription of his fav. magazine, collector's edition of books he has read/likes, a swiss army knife/ tools he will use on his car/bike/hobbies....all of this depends on what kinda guy he is and what he is into...
Happy shopping! :-)
