The user agreement sets out the terms of use. Censorship occurs when a fellow members reports abuse of the agreement. Yahoo reviews the complaint and has the right to respond in any manner they please. Often the abuse report IS in response to something that is "Politically Incorrect". Remember, you paid nothing to join, you receive nothing for participating, you have no rights, you do not have the right to complain about anything that happens in Yahoo Answers.

sometimes, but the answers aren't screened by "big brother". It's just that if there are 10 people out there reading and answering questions, one of them will be "offended", report you, and then the computer automatically deletes your question. There really isn't a real person doing the processing. So there's always a politically correct bleeding heart sympathizer out there reading your questions and reporting you. It's not balanced. I've done hard-core serious muslim bashing in an attempt to TRY to get reprimanded and it's never happened. On the other hand, I've been reported for some of the most innocuous things and had my question yanked. It's all a matter of who is getting offended and reporting you.

I don't know the answer to your question but I do think that there needs to be some censorship. Don't forget that children can access the site. Without any censorship at all the site would turn into a free for all for outrageous questions and answers . Please don't think i'm a prude. I have many a laugh in jokes and riddles.

i think of that Yahoo doesnt spend very quite some time taking under consideration the appropriateness of the questions or solutions stated. i think of that they take a quick look, and if it waddles like a duck, its a duck. No, the people reporting the alleged violations are those in charge. the diverse reporting is valid, simply by fact I too think of that many people in the politics talk board are abusing the equipment by utilising posting unprovoked, hate-crammed questions or solutions, in direction of what end i haven't the 1st clue. Others checklist valid questions or solutions simply by fact they're too shallow to settle for an answer they dont for my area consider. All i be attentive to it that each and every day this is going on the fee of this talk board decreases, until quickly it is going to likely be only a playground for haters shouting out juvenile insults only for the sake of wounding others. Then Yahoo will close it down. unlucky that each and every time we are given an possibility to talk and debate it turns into this. What a foul situation.

I don't think so, because I have given quite a lot of replies which fly in the face of political correctness.
However, I know how to say things without causing offence, even though people may disagree with my comments.

I don't think so. I've seen very salacious questions/answers posted on the various forums that are vitriolic, profane and just plain vulgar. If anything, the political forum is the most toxic, with noxious and polarized exchanges among users.

Definitely. They pretty much just remove whatever receives a complaint. It's not that they care probably - it's just easier to remove things like that without really trying to figure out if it's offensive or not. It may even be automated to remove anything that receives a few complaints.

It doesn't seem like it, I find they're guilty of random censorship.

Probably.
Freedom of speech is only OK as long as it's politically correct. Ask John Reid.
