Spiral Honey Baked Hams are the Best a little expensive but worth it. With have ham & turkey both for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year along with a big pan of homemade dressing.

Do both!! And make out a list of those likely to ask what they can bring and have a ready answer for them. Assign the side foods you won't have time to make. Aunt B is wizard with pies, assign pumpkin or pecan pie. Aunt C is wizard with sweet potatoes, this is hers. and go on down the list and plan your dinner this way. Makes the aunts happy to help you and cuts the costs of part of the dinner. My daughter hosts Thanksgiving. One of her sisters does the ham the other does the turkey. I do the pies. A friend who is coming is assigned potato dish. another is assigned sweet potatos or yams. son is assigned tossed salad and dressings. Hostess will do bread and drinks. Anyone else will be assigned something, relishes, dips and chips, jello salads, etc. Be relaxed about the whole thing! KISS or Keep It Super Simple. That way you can be a happy hostess and everyone will say what a great time they had.

Between turkey and ham, only turkey will give you that relaxed, serene, nap-ready feeling that only a tryptophan-laden bird can bring. Tryptophan is the naturally ocurring enzyme in turkey that makes one feel a bit drowsy after eating it in large quantities. I vote turkey and I feel sleepy just writing this answer.

Turkey all the way. We usually save the good hame for Easter. Both are making me hungry. The Pop Tart is not settling well.
