I think the day after Thanksgiving is the way to go. That way you observe the Thanksgiving Holiday and have the most time to enjoy your Christmas decorations. Merry Christmas!!!

It's entirely personal choice. I usually do mine mid December but one house that I pass on a daily basis have there's up, including outside decorations by the end of October. Have to say I think that's too early though !!!

You should put them up and take them down when YOU want to do so. The idea that there are folks out there who would make rules you should follow is beyond me.
The customary rule is anytime after Christmas and before the weeked after New Years Day. But you should do what YOU want.

I usually put mine up on the first of December I think any time before that is way too early. Theese people who put up their decco's after bon fire night are mad they must want xmas to last longer. Thats fine but I think it takes the magic and excitement away a bit cos your waiting too long for it to come.

2 weeks before Christmas is about right. Then the house is ready and welcoming for friends etc popping in for a drink etc.
Nice to see the use of CHRISTMAS instead of the awful XMAS.

It is supposed to be 12 dys before Christmas (12th) and take them down 12 days after (^th) but I don't think anyonw sticks to that now. Anyway if they make you happy and add a little glow to a dull day then stick them up whenever you like. They bring a smile to people and those who do not like them , BAH HUMBUG!!!!
