What is the difference between a book and a Novel? Isn't a book shorter than a novel?

a novel is a ficticious story of roughly 50,000 to 250,000 words. a book can be ficticious of or factual, and cover many genres including childrens books, encyclopedias, dictionarys, atlas's and even diarys. there are hundreds of different types
