IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

"In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner of later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality was tacitly denied by their philosophy."

Ha! I've been saying something similar for some time now and all I've gotten was ill commentaries and "thumbs down" by those sheep that KNOW the Dubya is lying and they swear it's the gospel truth! He has made our government a much larger bureaucracy and has squandered the Billions left for the Social Security program and Medicare which is now in dire straits because of his stupidity and bungling... yet his crones are profiteering and the Democrats are too stupid to investigate or oversee the illegal profits! They are all SO blinded (like dumb sheep) by fanaticism and demagoguery that our so-called democracy is now imperiled (this is no longer a "democracy" but a plutocracy, a government controlled by the super rich and powerful for their own best interests and enrichment).

But WE are to BLAME for allowing it to happen! Let's hope we can still un-do the mess they've caused. We are to blame for not holding the elected officials accountable and allowing them to pass laws that makes them an exclusive social class above the common populace!

Even if you have nothing to hide, there is NO reason why anyone should have ANY kind of record of you or me! You do NOT know who's handling those records and what they're doing with them! They have no business keeping secret records! That's what our enemies did... and if we do the same things that our enemies do, how is that going to make us better or different from our enemies? What's to prevent government personnel going through your drawers and handling your panties or your mother's panties or your daughter's panties or your wife's panties because you "have nothing to hide"? WHAT safeguards are there that they will not abuse their powers?

If we have the police and the militia to protect us... who or what is there to protect us all from THEM? You don't think there's at least one police person or one military or secret agent out there willing to abuse your rights, freedoms and liberties or that of someone else... someone who may have fallen out of favor or belongs to an opposing political party?

Consider this: while we're supposedly "fighting" terrorism here and abroad, while our American men and women are being killed and injured... there are AMERICAN companies profiteering, and they happen to be Dubya's and Prick Cheney's cronies... just like in Orwell's "1984" where the elite class amasses wealth and are above the laws that all others are subject to... isn't that disgusting, disgraceful and totally abhorant?

But, I didn't vote for Dubya and I would never vote for the grandson of a Nazy sympathizer and banker for Hitler and his cronies! Want proof? See:

I'm very curious as to what they woud do about me. My fingers are so dry that they don't leave any impression on the machine. I know this because I have to go through the US immigration queues from time to time and the only way in which I can leave an imprint (without which they won't let me through) is to moisten my fingers slightly (having them too moist doesn't work either). Would fingers like mine prove to be my salvation or my undoing in the eyes of the police?

Indeed.

can we all meet up somewhere and act as a mass to try and stem the wave of control, no, better not, we will all be arrested. But what if we ALL got together, won't happen, look what happened to the unions.

George Orwell tried to point out that your mind cannot be controlled, you can say what they want to hear, but they cannot stop your thoughts. God help us when they link the human brain to a computer. Perhaps people will be stupid enough to think it is cool to switch on the T.V. by just thinking it.

Maybe we should have bar codes tatooed on our necks, but they cannot control what we think. Silence is an admission of guilt. Assembly of men is not allowed. Saying anything to a policeman may be considered an obstruction of law. The British people do not have a right of assembly or freedom of speech, and the army can come at anytime and commision your house for their use. Thank God I do not live there anymore. What a God awful place Britain is, keep dancing and drinking and smoking and try to forget about it, after all, you will only die one day. God save the queen. But don't for get to pay your taxes.

I have been pointing out for weeks that 1984 is here now but people don't care as long as they get,'bread and circuses'. ID cards will be made compulsory but they are useless as crime prevention measure despite anything Bliar or Reid say. Your personal medical records to be made available to every 'jack-in-office' in your local authority. I could go on about all the other control systems they have designed but nobody seems interested,we are sleepwalking to disaster.

Yes he was......His book was called 1984.....Typical that Britain was 22 years late implementing the 'Big Brother' policies!!!
It's pathetic here now.....we have no free speech and our liberties have been taken away from us!! (Who said communism was dead)!!
Amazingly though, despite these crackdowns on the honest hard working Brit, the criminals get off lightly because the same government that brought in these ridiculous restrictions don't want to infringe their 'human rights'!! What a mess!!!!

Of course, all the sheep will agree, and then it'll become compulsory. The only weaopon we have now is our refusal. In the end we will be stepping away from the keyboard and up to the plate. Or I'd like to think so. The best I can hope for is to die on my feet while all around me people live on their knees.

Look at my question a few mins ago and I was trying to argue a similar point. There is NO way I will ever carry an ID card, and by the way I don't drive.
