It seems whenever an opinion on Iraq is needed, from the start of the war to the present, we rarely if ever hear the opinions of iraqis or people of iraqi origin. It is either Bush & Blair on one hand, or Stop The War coalition & British asians on the other. Neither set of opinions expressed by the above reflect those of iraqis. We are a diverse nation with 7 racial groups an 5 different religions, and varying social, political and cultural values. The arrogance of those in the west, either for or against the war and its aftermath is truly shocking. What say you?

I ask them all the time, there are many living in the west.
All the Iraqis I know are against the former Iraq Government
and in favour of democracy and economic freedom in Iraq.
They hope that Democracy will work in Iraq but are not holding their breath.

I say good for you for raising the question. How can decisions be made without the participation of the subject. Its just like saying I want this for you because my way is right(or wrong as the case maybe)regardless of what you want. The ordinary mans needs do not rank anywhere in the greater scheme of things.

Unfortunately, there is no one voice able to speak for all Iraqis as they are badly divided politically with the pro-Saddam Sunis and anti-Saddam Shi'ites killing each other constantly. Then there's the Kurds as well....
