It is good that you realise your bike can and should handle better.

But I beg you not to dick around with it yourself.

Take it to a specialist, it will reward you greatly - and may even one day save your life....

Peace out...

this is only a rough set up as suspension st up from one bike to the other is totally different.with no one one your bike put a cable tie round your fork leg go for a short ride.then when you get in meassure the distance from bottom of the fork leg to bottom of the cable tie.you need this to be 13mm so adjust the bolts at the top of the forks.now pull your bike on to the side stand lifting the back wheel off the ground and get a mate to meassure from the swing arm to subframe.now put thebike back down, sit on it and get your mate to meassure again.the difference should be 12mm.use the adjuster on the top of the rear spring to get this set.now get your mate to look at the bike side on and you push down on the seat of the bike.both ends should drop at the same speed.if the front or back of the bike drops faster use the compression screws to in the front or back to set this so they are both balanced.now this is all set you can check the rebound, this is the speed the suspension returns to its full length.if this is too slow it can cause tank slappers.too fast and it can make the front end chatter in a corner so this is best set from trial and error.good luck an i hope i helped

Here you go. Guessing your's will be the 2000 right?

These will be set by PB magazine rather than standard out of the crate settings - they may not suit you but should give a bit more confidence.

The first thing I'd do is check your tyre condition and pressures. Then set up according to the link.

After that if its still no good I'd get a specialist to have a look. Perhaps you have no fork oil?

Setting up the suspension should be done on any bike you own. All sport bikes have settings from the factory but they should be set for you.

At our shop we charge $30 and have our lead Mechanic do it who is an AMA mechanic.

This adjustment runs only $30 and make a bigger difference in performance than anything you can do to your bike.

It is the best $30 you can spend IMO.

So to answer your question there is not a setting I can give you, it is based on your weight.
