Yes for six year it was murky and smelly. I found out lots about my self that I will never forget. Marriage is a clear lake with the reflection of the mountains in it, if the lake is murky don't go for a swim you'll drown my little grey friend. The only things I found in the murky waters were old rusty shopping trolleys. :o)

Murky depths?! No wonder divorce rates are so high. Is that how you perceive marriage?
My dh and I have been married just over 18 1/2 yrs. I love him and being married to him.
Yes, we have fun. That is important.
But marriage is also work. You don't always have that feel good mushy love feeling. That is a feeling, and emotion. Marriage is about commitment to someone you love.
We choose to commit to each other, for better or worse, and that is what we are doing. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am married. I was never one of those women obsessed about being a bride or married and am still notparticularly - I dont go all gooey about it even tho I am a softy! I was prepared not to be married, with or without a partner. However, when I met my husband it became perfectly clear and natural for me to want to marry him. Dont know why...of course I love him, but more than that......without sounding corny..he was the one (and i was not young either - 31)
I really like being married. It can be hard sometimes ups and downs all over the place but fundamentally I feel very loved and supported and also feel relied on and that I have some one to rely on. Its a strange thing to explain because though some may see it as being 'tied' to someone, I have found it a very freeing experience. I wish you luck and love, and if marriage is right for you, you will know. x

Nearly....3 times!
And now in a serious one again.
Women I meet always want to settle down with me. Is this interesting? I think so...and it is fun, but serious business at the same time.
I was so close once, I was drawing up the invite list, and I caught her cheating, and told her to 'stick the ring somewhere'.
I don't even talk to her now, and its been 10+yrs....
Not that I hold grudges, or anything....ha ha

There is no such thing as the perfect mate or relationship. Just 2 people who love each other enough to work and make a less than perfect pair/marriage perfect for them.

I put my scuba diving suit on, waded in and found it rather less bright and sparkling than I imagined so I clambered out rather slowly and paddled away. All good!
