hi everyone

i would like to know if there is any way of preventing the bottom of jeans wearing away and tearing from walking and touching the ground without having to roll the jeans up, because it changes the shape of the bootleg and looks a little silly sometimes depending on the denim. i don't often wear heels or overly chunky trainers either.

thanks

note: even the best fitted jeans sometimes slightly touch the ground.

Either start wearing heels, or have them hemmed.

Also, pay attention to the inseam length. If you buy jeans with 32" inseams and they drag the ground, stop and look for 31" or 30" instead.

Try to get a elastic string and sew both ends to the bottom of your jeans at position where the 2 pieces of jeans was originally joined.
The length of the string should be the same as the width when you lay your jeans flat from front.
Then when you put on your jean, make sure your leg tuck in to the back of the sewed string. Let your ankle do the work by holding the bottom of your jeans up with the help of the string.
By this way, the string will always pull your jeans bottom from touching the ground.

Im really short, so I have a problem with my pant legs dragging on the ground. The best thing to do is take the jeans in to get hemmed. Its not very much money, and is very worth it. Some stores even hem their pants for free. The place I buy all of my jeans from hems any pair u buy from them. You cant even tell they've been hemmed either

Pay close attention to the inseam, and next time try getting pants with a shorter one. Don't hem bootcuts because it will fold when u hem it.
Best way is to go to somewhere where they label the length and waist. Ex. American Eagle
28 X 32 (waist by inseam)

The guidelines of physics save on with right here my pal... donning shorter denims isn't a sarcastic answer, that's the right answer. Or attempt rubber bands to carry them up... it would want to seem dorky yet your denims wont drag the floor... Take care...

Go and get them altered or hemmed. you can take them to a tailor...you can get clothing altered at Macy's or at a dress shop it should not be to much because it is only a Small alteration and it is denim. all they will do is take some length off and it will not change the fit.

don't sew your pants! these people are stupid...the length needs to vary based on your shoes.

Here is what you do:

fold the back only....up so that it is like flush with the heel of your shoe/boot

use a safety pin (of course safety pin on inside - u can make it so that you can barely see it....my suggestion pin it high like above ankle)

let the front stay the same so it looks unaltered and still cool

....when I say pin it high that is because if you pin it low like near the bottom then it will droop down and not solve your problem.

**hope it helps

Aren't they *supposed* to drag along the ground? Maybe you should switch to skinny jeans like Kate Moss wears. Or wear braces/suspenders :)

You can hem them. Just pin them up with some normal pins to the height you want them and you can take them to a taylor and have them raised up or maybe ask someone who knows how to do it to it. Ive never hemmed jeans...but I know it can be done.
