I like pups and dogs - they are really playfull and you can walk them
Kittens - They are playful

Dogs for us!
I am partial to the Australian Shepherd. There colors and personality have always been my favorite since my first one as a teenager.
Though I have worked with MANY dogs, and have 4 at the moment....
I have had cats before as well, and do like them too! But have not had one for some time. They are behind dogs as far as critters go on my list....

As for the species it depends on the kind of person you are. I prefer cats, independant but affectionate, sweet, clean for the most part, (and adorable!) Dogs are great if you need a companion to go with you everywhere, play frisbee, walk, etc. and very trainable and always glad to see you. As for the type, consider a shelter pet. There are so many that need homes and they are just as sweet if not more so than your purebreds and often less money to adopt. All of our pets came from a shelter. Whatever you do, please have them spayed/neutered!

I used to be a dog person, and really hated cats
before I got one for my daughter. I have trained my cat to sit, roll over, shake and fetch a scrunchy ball or mouse. She's still pretty independent (and she's got the whole litter box thing going), and she can be very affectionate like dogs are.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel- excellent with kids, people, other animals everything! always happy to see you, always wagging their tail. Some have health problems but if you buy from a reputable breeder you can generally weed out the ones with problems.
Staffy- great with kids, people, not so good with other animals they arent bought up with but generally great pets. Can have skin problems but overall pretty healthy breed. Again it's best to buy from a reputable breeder.
Abbysinian- great natured cats!
Burmese-also have nice natures.

A Boston Terrier. Sweet disposition and they were bred to be companion dogs. Highly recommend them!

Dogs are best. They are loyal and playful, unlike cats who piss on you when you dont give them what they want...Dogs are more fun.
