While slavery has been banned in Western civilizations for well over a hundred years, it continues to exist in places throughout the world. Indeed, slavery still exists in parts of Africa and the Middle East.

Though it is illegal in places like SouthEast Asia, it still happens as women and children are abducted and forced into the sex trade. Indeed, these practices even have been known to happen in Europe and the United States. Though the term employed is human trafficking and not slavery, though it all boils down to the same thing.

Personally, I believe that those who would force others into a life of slavery should be shot in the head Gestapo style.

u knw 2 me this is a very sick question to ask coz slaves would b tied 2 their neck and were told 2 walk more than 100 km sometimes and most of the chains round the neck would start rubbing then in the end there would b a wound now when the blood came so did flies they would suck at the blood nasty this isn't the end if the slave stopped to sho the flies he/she would get whipped. when the slavers (managers) would see that the slave become weak they would shoot him/her they didn't care if he/she had relatives or kids they would just shoot at him/her. now he/she kept on walking til u got 2 the shore of the ocean then he/she where put in a boat 2 not waste space he/she were put on top of the other slave and tied up. for food the slaves would b thrown 2 or 3 yams 2 share against 10 or 20. the boat didn't have toilets so the slaves had no choice but 2 just poo or pee on the person under them. then when the would arrive wherever they would have 2 work and get whipped if they got something wrong and that is a slaves life, but i guess u didn't knw this did u?

I am assuming you are not a philosopher and great thinker on world events. Therefore your question does not deserve an answer --in respect to the millions of people who did "serve" or "forced" into slavery in its many forms. Slavery is banished from the legal books. Yet, it strives mainly in impoverished parts of the world --prostitution, child slavery, economic and financial slavery etc etc. S.O.S. should be sounded on all these events and they are sounded, but the civilized world is "deaf to hear" the cries of all the abused. You should re-word your question in a positive way so that decent human beings could respond and hopefully awaken the "people" to this great calamity of the 21st century still among the civilizations. I do rest my case and you should not either, hopefully in a positive and helpful spirit.

Do you know why slavery ended? Because the rich figured out that you could never whip a man into working as hard as a free man will work to support his family.

But in some parts of the world, the rich aren't as smart. Plenty of slavery still with us today. Seems the whites are the only people who have given it up. http://www.infoplease.com/spot/slavery1.html

Move to Jordan in the middle-east. They still have legal slave trade, and no one says a thing.
