Yes, i know she is pretty & her legandary status was build on that before even she entered the top 20. All i know from reading about her and her body language that she does not even talk to the other players or say anything nice about them. Everytime the camera in her face, she just talks of how great & strong she is. Coming with shoes with her name on them, golden shoe laces & golden cell phone. Telling the Press , " show me the money ". Beside, i think she is pretty, but she is a Giant for a girl at 6 3". My question is, do we like created legands , no matter what, even if they are uncivilized ?

yes i totally agree with u.she is such a mean old girl and is too arrogant.her grunts equal the sound of a pneumatic drill and she has really bad ties with other players especially all the russian players who absolutely hate her.her father openly cheats providing on court coaching.also i feel she is a bit of a giant 6'3'' is too tall for a girl she'll even be towering over federer and nadal.she is surely there for the money and herself says she finds it difficult to prevent getting involved full time in fashion.i dont like her for me she is no legend with her disgusting,arrogant,i-am-the-best attitude.

Yes, I think that Maria Sharapova is the most arrogant, mean, self-centered, and slickest in it for the fame type of person. I mean personally i don't like her and everyone just keeps bragging about how pretty she is. But she isn't pretty, and she's too tall, and she can't play. I mean Andy Roddick does a great impression of her when she was playing she hit the swinging forhand Volley and then switched her hips back to get 2 more balls to serve with. She makes me very mad and she's in every mag, and the only reason she's getting shoes with her name on tem is because the hottest male tennis player Rafael Nadal has them but his are hot and I'm getting a pair also.

Maria was not raised in a normal social setting. she was brought up to be a tennis machine. if she comes accross as arrogant or anti-social, it's should be held against her, she just doesn't know any better..
the fact that she is cashing in on endorsements should not be held against her either. she is a great athelete who wins tennis tournaments, who also happens to be good looking. nothing wrong with maximizing her financial potential..
if you have a problem with her endorsement deals, then file a complaint with the companies that are paying her to endorse. tell them you won't be buying their products.
society tends to but good looking athelets on a pedistal ahead of non-good looking atheletes. this is certainly unfair, but should not be blamed on Maria.
finally, this girl grew up in poverty in Siberia.. her family made major sacrifices for her to be able to come to USA to learn the sport. She has invested tons of hard work, she has sacrificed having a normal childhood.. all to be a tennis player.
so to conclude: arrogant? perhaps.. in it for the money? why else do professionals go to work every day?
do we like uncivilized created legends? well, i can certainly appreciate and respect the hard work she has put into her life.. the hours of training, the physical fitness training, and now, the long weeks of travel and tennis.. this girl is a role model for sure. she deserves all the success she can get, and i couldn't be happier for her.

No. I think she's a great player who is focused and driven to do nothing but win. She isn't on the tour to make friends and be everyone's angel. She wants to compete and win chanmpionships.
She isn't a "created legend". SHE created the success that we all see/read about.

yes i agree, but that is all put on her by her dad, Yuri. you see him in the stands with the dollar signs in his eyes, illegally coaching her. so he openly cheats and doesnt care that it affects his daughter on the world stage. like holding up a banana at one change of ends in a match to tell her to eat a banana.
