i would say that their are two sides to every story. i was shocked when he headbutted the guy, but a few days later it came out that Marco was insulting and provoking him all throughout the game. ithink the final insult was when he called zinedine's mum and sisters whores. so fair enough penalise zinedine but also Marco .Marco should be ashamed as it wouldn't have happened if he had kept his mouth shut and behaved himself, think he got what was coming to him. but to kids watching it was a very bad example of the bad side of sport. my opinion is that their are two sides to every story and that the guys in question need to show a better example to kids watching who love the game

no, but zidane always had a temper, he has a history of headbutting people/getting sent off. as for materazzi provoking him.....insults happen all the time in football, i'm sure there are ones worse than what he said (something about his sister). materazzi got exactly what he wanted. zidane succumbed to his insults and now materazzi's a world cup winner, which i think he would have been anyway; but it meant that zidane's career ended in disgrace.

No.
Materzzi himself is insulted during every single match, but he does not headbutt anyone.
Are maybe a thousands "Son of a B**ch" said to Materazzi better than the one said to Zidane? I don't think so.
But Materazzi is a lord, not like zizou. He was a lord, but after 7/9 he has been no more to me.

Of course not. Soccer players say a lot to each other in order to make their opponents lose their temper. But you are not allowed to lose your temper if you want to be called a great player, it's part of being a top player. Plus, it was the World Cup's Final and he left his team without it's leader, on the first place and secondly, with 10 players. Not to mention that it is dangerous to hit someone on his chest, he may die. I totally disagree with his reaction. That is my opinion, but you should first ask your examiner which team he supported and then answer!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was just the reaction of a real man, he prefers to defend his mother's honour instead of a World Cup and I can say 3 words for this :
BRAVO MONSIEUR ZIDANE

Yes and no.
He should not have done it on the field, whilst he was playing he should play fair and take the insult.
BUT he should have done it outside the stadium.
