In the USA, Thanksgiving is always on the fourth Thursday of the month of November. As to what is said, one gives thanks to whatever Higher Power(s) that one believes in for having family, harvest, food, and all the blessings that one has been given throughout the previous year. And there is a traditional feast. In the USA, usually ham, goose or large turkey is the meat and many side dishes and pies. LOL then a lot of us watch a football game on the television...
It is often a time where family members travel back to one place and have a reunion and social time together as well.
