First of all is the PC on the local Domain? or is it on some workgroup? Are users created locally or are they on Active Directory? If the users are local then create another local user and try logging in. If not then try giving the user admin or power user rights and see if that makes any diffrerence. If it does then you probably have some settings somewhere that needs to be changed or your local users directory may have corrupted files - clean install is a good way to go from there. If the new user is able to log in then copy what ever you need from the ols user and then delete it.

If this is with Active directory then make sure that the PC is on the domain. Try taking it off and putting it back on the domain. Delete user profile and try logging in.

If all fails then copy what you have to from local PC and do full installation again. Windows gives you lots of weird problems at times and fixing them sometimes will still not make it work as well as it used to before.

Good luck!!

Sounds like something may have corrupted the log in profiles (stored in the documents and settings directory).

If you can get in the the administrator account, log in and go to the control planel. Click the User icon and create an new account for one of your people. Then see if you can open that account.

If you can, simply go into the docu&setting directory, find their old account and copy anything the need (My Documents, Favorites, Desktop, etc) over to the new account. Then delete the old account.

What files are you shareing? If you are not sharing any files then you are not going to see another computer at all.
If you are not on the same "network" (MSHome) then you are NEVER going to see ANY of the other computers.
