why dont we pray them , or contsruct temples of them , just like every god has got...

Actually, it is said that these sages were just writing down what was being told to them by Lord Ganesh. They were just following his orders.

The sages are well-reverred in Hinduism though. Go to Dwarika, Allahabad and Kashi and you'll find their portraits, temples etc.

Valmiki and Vyasa documented Ramayana and Mahabharata, as opposed to 'wrote' them. They were not the products of their imagination. So they are considered sages and not Gods

Neither these sages, nor their followers needed to regard them as Gods.

If they were really gods, they wouldn't have written the books at all, they would have have their followers do it.
