I'm and old man, 77 years of age and asking for genuine help.

I have a hand written list of names and addresses ready for my Christmas Cards.

However, because of illness, writing is now difficult for me.

Please tell me where I should type my list of names and addresses and then be able to use the typed list, to print off individual labels with the names and addresses.

I have Word XP on my computer and also Microsoft Word 2000.
(Years ago I used something called mail merge, but I have long forgotten how that was used.)

Replies in plain, simple and jargon free languauge will be much appreciated.

Hope someone can help me.

In Microsoft word you can make labels. For address labels I suggest Avery #5160 (1 x 2 5/8)

Start by going to Tools / Envelopes & Labels.
You choose the label type and a screen comes up that looks just like your label sheet. Type your labels as you want them and print. What you see is what is printed.
If the printed page is what you like I suggest you Save it to use another time to save typing again. Do this for each page. Remember -- you can change font, size, color, allignment etc. just like in email or a word document.
If you need more help feel free to message me.
Have fun___ Good luck and Merry Christmas.

In 'word' go to 'tools' and then 'letters and mailings'
then 'envelopes and labels'
go to 'options' and it will give you a list of hundreds of manufacturers standard label sizes..hopefully your labels should be in this list somewhere.
click on the label type and then 'OK'
this take you back to the previous menu
now click on 'new document'
this will show you a blank word document with the page divided up into the individual labels.
type your labels in here

you can use the same template if your label manufacturer is not listed. you choose the 'custom label' option, and it will require you to put in a few measurements for the way your labels are laid out on the sheet

go to tools and selct mail merge there u have options to even print labels but first you need to key in this data in opne row in an excel orword document to mail merge it.

easy way is to buy some software (find it cheaply nowadys) and use the software to print labels.

vendor will even tell you how to use it

Microsoft Office Online have some good templates for labels.

Just pick your template according to which size labels you have and then type away.
