As to the age of the earth, lets look at the rock granite. Granite forms the layer of rock from beneath sedimentary rocks to the mantel of the earth. Russians have been working in the science of drilling deep holes. They have been able to drill down six miles, and still find that the rock is granite. They believe that the granite goes down at least 12 miles. Now all granite contains trillions of what are known as Polonium Halos. Polonium (Po) is a radioactive element with three different isotopes. Polonium breaks down by emitting alpha particles. It is these particles that are trapped in the granite and make the halos. Now in order for these halos to occur, the mother element (i.e. Polonium) must be present in the solid granite. Once the Polonium is encased in the solid granite and the alpha particle is given off the Halo is formed. There is no question from any qualified scientist that the Halos are formed this way. Now here is the problem for evolutionists, who say that the earth is millions or even billions of years old. The half-lives of the Polonium isotopes are extremely short. One is only a few seconds; the second is only three minutes and the third is just over a day. The second isotope produced the overwhelming majority of halos that we see. This means that all the Polonium atoms were encased in SOLID granite within a three-minute interval. This means that ALL the granite in the world was produced in about 3minutes. Now before you say impossible, this is consistent with the nature of granite. You see if you heat granite to a molten state, when it cools and solidifies it becomes another rock. Granite cannot come from a molten state. However, evolution teaches that the earth was molten for millions of years. How can anybody indicate that evolution is a fact when its teachings are at complete odds with observed science?

I don't really see this question being properly answered here. We have information on how old the earth is and we have references to outdated and refuted information that attempts to back up the "it was just magically wished into existence" model. Can we please get some real geologists to comment on how long it likely took the earth to form (not how old it is according to the latest data)?

While I'm here, the "Polonium Haloes" hypothesis was refuted in the 1990's. I know it takes work to read and understand this information, but please read

for the details on how this fails on essentially every level. Also, free2beme55 mentions that "evolution teaches that the earth was molten for millions of years". Evolution is not concerned with geologic formations and cooling of the earth, that's geology. Evolution is the study of the diversity of life and picks up with the first life (it doesn't even deal with the origin of life, that's abiogensis) and how it changed and branched over time to give us the speciation that we know of today.

The widely accepted scientific theory states that the Earth was formed around 4.57 billion years ago.

Some geologists now believe earth was created in a day, not to hard to fathom when you understand that the common rock granite was created in less than 45 minutes.

even though granite were form within few minutes we cannot conclude that earth were form in few days or 4-5 days. that granite were form at the surface between 1-50 miles range. if you aware the formation of our inner core and outer core it probably took millions of years due to its tremendous presure to form it..

I'm not sure that this is the right answer, but I have been studying this in my science class. About 4.6 to 4.5 bya, a disk-shaped cloud of subsidiary smaller lumps, pieces, dust, gases, etc. orbiting the sun subsequently coalesced and condensed to form the planets, satellites, asteroids, comets, etc. I believe my science teacher told us that it took 30 billion years to form.
