Lavender (the entire plant) is a pest remover as many animals / insects dislike the smell. Planting it in your garden keeps plant-eating bugs away, so if you had it around, I'm sure the bugs would leave.

I haven't heard of lavandin! Only lavender, which is very very useful for all kinds of things!
