My husband and I have been invited to my friends parents Thanksgiving Dinner. My friends told me I don't have to bring anything, however, I believe if you are invited somewhere you should bring something for the host. I would like to bring a bottle of wine, but I have no clue (and neither does my friend) what kind of wine they would like. Any idea?

Yes I agree always bring something!!!! Never go empty handed-- Everyone says oh don't worry but trust me its the thought that counts. There are a few things you can do and these are all depending on your personality. I for instance love baking so every year around this time I bake a ton of cookies all kinds and start preparing "cookie-plates" I bring to holiday dinners or even give as gifts to people. If baking isn't your thing a bottle of wine and even an arrangement of fall flowers sound great as well. I personally love flowers and a bottle of wine is always a good idea. As far as what wine to bring it really doesn't matter. Of course depends upon price and and how much you want to spend. A great Chardonnay on the market is from Kendal Jackson and it is moderately priced. And if you want to go all out bring a bottle of white and red I know KJ carries some tasty red wines as well. Whatever you decide to bring it will be greatly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wine would be good but if you don't know what the host likes you could make a serious error. After all they may not drink at all. You could get a scented candle with a pretty holder or perhaps a great floral arrangement for a centerpiece. This does not have to be expensive just nice to show your appreciation for dinner. Remember to send a thank you note. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Maybe bring a nice poinsettia plant as a host's gift -- they're pretty, easy to find, holiday-appropriate, and they don't require any effort from the busy host to accept (other than putting it down on a table and saying 'thank you'). But in general, anything simple, presented graciously, is good.
