Hi, have you tried just staying up all night then carrying on with your normal daily routine. By the next evening you should be extremely tired at a reasonable time. Do your usual bedtime relaxation things, warm bath (not hot)warm milk and honey, a bit of light reading, then put yourself to bed. Complete silence and dark/ a night light and cd of soothing sounds (sea, rain, etc), whichever combo you prefer. Also remember the room has to be a couple of degrees cooler than your body temperature. Make sure your pillows are right and the tog on your quilt. if you do sleep make a point of getting up real early, try going for a jog or brisk walk. This will burn a bit more energy so by the end of the day you should feel a little more tired. Failing that maybe your job is understimulating you or maybe its too much and you can't switch off.
Either way Good Luck!!

Treatment for insomnia focuses on the cause of your inability to sleep well. If you have an underlying medical problem such as chronic pain, a breathing problem, or a digestive disorder, treating the problem successfully will usually allow better sleep.

You may be able to treat your insomnia with minor lifestyle and behavioral changes such as setting a regular bedtime, waking at the same time each day, not using caffeine or alcohol for several hours before bedtime, or getting regular exercise. Avoiding daytime naps also may be helpful.

Medications may sometimes be needed to help induce sleep. They are commonly prescribed for short-term use if other treatment isn't working. They should not be the primary treatment over the long term and should always be combined with lifestyle and behavioral changes.

Has your doctor prescribed Ambien? I think it works great. I have a link for you to check out, click on next to continue. I wish I could be more help. :\

Hi,

Sounds like u have insomnia? I think u need to resign urselve to a life of being tired?

U say u fall asleep at 3am which is annoying maybe u shud try to change to a night job and try to sleep through the day?

Some people r call night owls, they naturally fall asleep later, and the opposite is a lark, that rise early!

Or leave the light on or some sort of noise to soothe u?

Sorry thats all i can suggest

When I got my current job I was delighted, but in the same evening I panicked about the level of responsibility and that was followed by a night of zero sleep.

The following night I spelt but the damage was done, in that I then worried about getting to sleep, and I would be conscious it during the day.

My point is that there may have been a trigger in your life, which has led to a psychological anxiety about sleep. I now sleep pretty well again, but I have been through 2.5 years of irregular sleep.

My suggestion is that you have a look back over your life to see if there was a tigger and can you do anything about it?

These things do pass, though; it has in my case and it will in yours, I'm sure.

Perhaps you could get a referral to a sleep clinic. There must be a reason for not sleeping. Tablets won't remove the cause. Try going to bed when you feel tired. There's no point staying in bed if you are wide awake. Good luck.

do you stay in bed late in the morning?
maybe you have changed your body clock round

stay up instead of going to bed - and then try and have an early night 11p.m is better than nothing

it might take a while to put your body clock back - I've done this before - and takes agaes - resist the urge to sleep in and have a nap in the day.

try to relax - maybe the stress of you not sleeping is causing you not to sleep more - stop watching tv / playing on computer etc.. before bed - try to have a nice reaxing hour or so reading, listening to soft music - have a warm milk

It must be to do with nitric oxide levels in your body- there is a great product that is healthy and recommended by top scientists and nutritionists in the world! One thing is it's not cheap, but it depends how desperate you are to get good sleep!
Prescription medication isn't good for you and if you can replace medication with something healthy like this i would certainly recommend it!
Let me know if you want more info as i distribute the products and have 10% off this month, they are just amazing!
Take care

Im 58 and have the same problem. Im taking temazapam, my problem is that when I get relaxed my mind goes wild. In that pre REM period I think of everything From A to Z then I finally get to sleep. What I do now is take a short nap when I can, Take the temazapam 10 min. before I go to bed and don't think of anything else.
